My favorite sports are cycling and running.

I ran my first marathon in New York in 1981, and since then I haven’t stopped. So far, I’ve run 70 marathons in 23 countries across five continents. The only continents I have yet to run a marathon in are South America and Oceania, but they are on my bucket list.

I’ve studied in the Netherlands and the US, worked in the US, the UK, Germany and Greece, and traveled to more than 90 countries in total.

I also own a business called Wescap, a technical trading company. And since early 2017, I’ve been the Public Relations Manager for AIMS, (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races) for Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

In April 2019, I set up Bowman Sports Consultancy. Why “Bowman”? Well, my own surname, Schuttert, is difficult to pronounce in English, and a bowman can mean archer, which is a literal translation of my surname. What’s more, a bowman is also the man in front of a boat – the person who helps with manoeuvres and seeing where you have to go.

Feel free to get in touch.
